Isola Bella Cafe

63 Brent Street, Hendon, London, NW4 2EA

A strong will and a clear mind are the pre-requisites if you wish to place an order at this sophisticated restobar in London. Not surprising, considering the menu offers a choice of over 314 items across Thai, Italian, Israeli and Japanese cuisines, including sushi which is the latest addition. Mushrooms, tomatoes, French beans and sweet corn are served in many guises: tossed in a sauce with potatoes, or added to noodles or rice. The kitchen also dabbles in fusion as is the case with pesto and salsa. The flavours of the dishes are appealing while the portions remain generous. A starter of California roll sushi, raw tuna and avocado in nori cones and mozzarella salad, white balls on a mountain of greens sets the stage for hearty main courses such as grilled St Denis, fragrantly charred, sea bream.

REVIEWS OF Isola Bella Cafe

Watford Allan (6 December 2007)

That was the second time we went, and it was as excellent as the previous visit. That’s a fish restaurant, but no shellfish as it is strictly kosher, with touches of Thai and Japanese cuisine. The speciality is a user-designed fish meal, choice of salmon, Dennis or sea bass, choice of cooking method, and of sauce, and of accompaniment. Good service, young and very attentive waitresses, modest prices, about £20 without drinks. It’s full even on weekdays, so book in advance.
