Itihaas Indian Restaurant Description
Drawing heavily from historic, mainly Mughal influences, dining at Itihaas becomes a culinary experience that you would not want to miss. The clean lines of the décor are interspersed with uniquely interesting artefacts that have been sourced as far back as the 18th century.
The food however is made from the freshest produce, and draws deeply from the North West frontier province as is evident in the menu with Lahori dishes in the starters like chotte kofte, modest sized lamb meat balls delicately spiced with cardamon and cloves brought together in a tangy, dry natural sauce.
Main courses have a lot to offer and it can be a difficult decision between hara bhara gosht, casserole of lamb roasted cumin seeds, chilli flakes, crushed garlic and spinach or the khari maha jhinga, king prawns, pan fried and marinated in a deep thick masala gravy. The thali meals offer great value for money while a wide range of Indian desserts are there to assuage any cravings for sweets.

Taz (20 January 2009)
Itihaas was highly recommended to me for my wedding catering. I was extremely impressed by the restaurant and the manager on my first meeting. However, I believe this was all to get my business. On the day of my wedding I was let down by only one function, and that was the catering. The staff did not speak English and spilled curry on my guests as well as on the expensive carpeting at the venue. The event manager decided to leave after one hour and did not return. My wedding favours were removed from the tables and placed in the bins by Itihaas staff and my guests drinks were taken away without asking first. The event manager failed to open the drinks bar on time and then refused to do so as he did not have enough staff. Thankfully, the venue manager took matters into his own hands and saved the day! In order to avoid disappointing service on your wedding day, I would not recommend Itihaas, especially for the price they charge.

I think Itihaas is overrated and overpriced. £90.00 for three people - what a rip off! The waiters take away your starters before you have finished eating. If you like waiters watching you eat and making you feel uncomfortable; you'll love it.
