Itihaas Indian Restaurant Description
Drawing heavily from historic, mainly Mughal influences, dining at Itihaas becomes a culinary experience that you would not want to miss. The clean lines of the décor are interspersed with uniquely interesting artefacts that have been sourced as far back as the 18th century.
The food however is made from the freshest produce, and draws deeply from the North West frontier province as is evident in the menu with Lahori dishes in the starters like chotte kofte, modest sized lamb meat balls delicately spiced with cardamon and cloves brought together in a tangy, dry natural sauce.
Main courses have a lot to offer and it can be a difficult decision between hara bhara gosht, casserole of lamb roasted cumin seeds, chilli flakes, crushed garlic and spinach or the khari maha jhinga, king prawns, pan fried and marinated in a deep thick masala gravy. The thali meals offer great value for money while a wide range of Indian desserts are there to assuage any cravings for sweets.

Your Reviews of Itihaas Indian Restaurant
Saahil (2 July 2008)
I went there to dine with two friends and was not very impressed. I try out different cuisines regularly. I felt the king prawn dish we had for starters was salty and the mosala dish ordered as mains was very tangy and full of lemon juice. The food was basic with posh names.
We ordered drinks at approximately 10.50pm and the waiter said the restaurant was closed. After arguing with the waiter that it is stated on business cards on all of the restaurant's tables that they are open till 11pm, he served the drink. The waiters then kept disturbing us by walking up and down our table. The bill came to around £125. We will not be recommending Itihaas to our friends.

That was a fantastic experience. As an Indian living and working in the UK, I found great comfort in the truly genuine food. For me this is as good as it gets. Decor was fantastic, really gone to town on creating a memorable evening. This place was by no means cheap, but I was treated like royalty as soon as I walked in. The restaurant is for those who enjoy being pampered. I would definitely recommend!
