Jack In The Green Inn Description

Conveniently located for Exeter International Airport, Jack in the Green has a well-deserved reputation for good food, a wide range of dishes displaying flair and skill. The mussel, leek and saffron risotto fell victim to lambs' sweetbreads with Parma ham and morel mushrooms by a clear lead. This lead well to the grilled fillet of sea bass with five spice butter and well cared for spinach.

And so to the puddings where the scale of indulgence registered off the clock as sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and clotted cream took a hold. It is hardly surprising that they have just won the pub of the year award and have an impressive review record, of which I am happy to be a small part.

Your Reviews of Jack In The Green Inn

Brian Leonard (15 April 2006)

Had a meal at the Jack in the Green Inn with friends we were all impressed, the food was excellent, staff very good. My wife and I will be going back to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

John Croxen (16 November 2005)

We hadn't been back since a romantic dinner eight years ago. The food had improved enormously, not surprisingly along with the price. The modern tables and chairs in the dining area in which we sat fitted a bit uneasily with the timbered ceiling beams. The menu was inviting and the food well prepared and served. The starter was good, the pudding quite exceptional. For main course we both had the venison with some really crisp green vegetables. The meat was beautifully cooked and presented. But on the plate was what appeared to be a roast potato. It tasted and smelt like powdered potato, and we could not eat it, and that almost spoiled that course for us. It was again a memorable evening. The service good although a bit impersonal. And the meal overall was good value. But at that price you can't cut corners!
