Jahan Burscough Description
Jahan is the name of a small chain of Indian restaurants in the North West. The inviting venues, one of which is in Burscough, offer both traditional as well as contemporary dishes to customers wishing to experience the exciting flavours of the Indian subcontinent.
Start with a healthy portion of tandoori chicken, marinated chicken cooked over charcoal, and vegetable pakora, battered vegetable chunks deep-fried and served with your choice of chutney.
Among the restaurant specials consider the aznobi dishes, delicately prepared in a creamy mushroom and garlic sauce with a selected range of traditional herbs and spices and albela dishes, created from sweet corn with added herbs and spices and topped with cheese. Both are available with various choices of meat, seafood and vegetable and can be accompanied by Indian breads. The menu also presents the popular Mughlai, balti, rogan josh, dhansak, bhuna, Madras and korma varieties.
A list of wines complements the food well.

It was my first time at an Indian restaurant and I was apprehensive, but I must say the staff were very lovely, helpful and tried everything to make you feel welcome. The food was to die for once they had an idea of what we might like; they also sent us home with a doggie bag. I am the most fussy eater you would ever come across, veggie, no fish and so on, but this is definitely one to return to. Thank you.
