Jamie's Italian - Oxford

I had a good meal there a few weeks ago and decided it would be a great venue to take eight guests, including two from Australia. Unfortunately the booking number is not particularly user friendly - tried on a number of occasions to book a table for nine people and quite frankly the automated system seems little more than useless, unless you want to go to a website! Why would I have phoned if I wanted a website? Dialling from my mobile the robot message just continues in a loop and does not recognise number key selections, and when I did eventually connect nobody answered the phone for twenty minutes. If it were my business I would check the dial-up on a regular basis to make sure it worked - guess it depends on how much you need the business.

Having driven 45 miles from Reading, Berkshire to Jamie's Italian, Oxford on Sunday, I arrived at the restaurant as walk in and spoke to a waitress on entry and asked if they had table for one. She replied ‘yes sir’ and then said she had to ask the manager who was sorting table planning. He then came up to me and said that we are not taking anymore customers as they had run out on food and had nothing to offer. I said it was only 8.20pm but he said food had run out in a rude manner and I am not pleased by this.
