Jan and Freddies Brasserie Description

Comfort dining gets a face-lift at Jan and Freddies Brasserie in Fairfax Place, now that's after you've stepped in to admire the stylish dining area with polished tables and aesthetic lighting. In case you didn't notice, the AA Rosette sits prettily in the collection, and so is the much acclaimed entry in the Michelin Guide.

Brasserie stalwarts seem to be the order of the day with a menu embracing prawn fishcakes coated in honey panko breadcrumbs and River Teign mussels in a white wine and shallot broth. A starter of ballotine of fresh salmon is enlivened with a soft herb flavouring and finished with salsa Verde, with the beetroot and horseradish relish adding a tangent of spice, or try a whole 8 oz char-grilled fillet of Blackawton beef for a main course at Jan and Freddies A decadent sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce and fine vanilla bean ice cream is enough to satiate those sugar cravings.

Fixed Dinner

  • £23.95 (2 courses) to £26.95 (3 courses)

Your Reviews of Jan and Freddies Brasserie

Niki and Steve (16 March 2009)

We ate twice in this restaurant within the space of a week despite there being lots of choice of eating places in Dartmouth. The welcome by the owners was great, food and atmosphere superb. The menu changes regularly and presentation of food was brilliant and many ingredients sourced locally. Wine list was very good and not overpriced. It’s highly recommended.
