Jashan
19 Turnpike Lane, London, N8 0EP
Jashan in Turnpike Lane offers an eclectic selection of Indian food, some comfortingly familiar, others refreshingly different. Dine here on food that is not run of the mill for this is an establishment that believes in delivering fare that will delight the palate with its freshness and variety. Refreshing coolers, rose flavoured orange juice or honey flavoured pineapple juice, help welcome you to the meal. REVIEWS OF Jashan
Jonny (27 June 2010)
I’ve lived in Turnpike lane for over twenty years and I’ve never found an Indian restaurant to top Jashan. The double lamb chops have to be a favourite, though I often just tell the staff what kind of meat I fancy and let them decide on a main and side dish to complement.

Having visited this restaurant on numerous occasions over the last 6 to 7 years, I am surprised this establishment is not more well known. I have dined in various Indian restaurants in London including South East, North London Central London and Asian hotspot areas like Wembley, Ealing and Southall. I still have not found an Indian Restaurant that can consistently match the taste and authenticity of Jashan.
Each dish is prepared and served to perfection. It is difficult to recommend any particular dish as individual’s preference will vary. I would compare the authenticity of the dishes to that you could expect from a restaurant in India.
Yes, it is very, very busy and would recommend booking in advance especially for Fridays and Saturday. When you get there you will expect a full house and waiters rushed of there feet - but there is a very good reason it is so busy - the food is out of this world!
Waiters are very helpful and accommodating to individual preferences. I know it is expensive but I would have to say it is worth every penny.
So often Indian restaurants make the dish not prepare it. More often than not the sauce is from a tin. This is not the case with Jashan. This gives it the wonderful aroma and flavours that I would expect from a quality restaurant.
Jashan should be awarded Michelin Stars. I hope those of you that have visited and dined at Jashan will agree.
