Very much a neighbourhood restaurant (every community should have one). The modus operandi is straightforward. There are four dishes per course at both lunch and dinner, no supplements and no limitation on numbers of courses. Good points for the general standard of cooking include a choice of robust ingredients that lend themselves to a richness of flavours. The pasta is homemade and almost unrecognisable from the dreary stuff so often on the shelves. Bresse chickens and fish from Cornwall are also a marked improvement on what has become all too often the depressing norm. The wine list is serious stuff, with plenty of sound choice below £20 and large glasses at £3.50. Ten of us had a remembrance day lunch at the weekend. What a fantastic event! Having eaten in number of Michelin starred restaurants, it was by far the best meal I have ever eaten. The food quality, the flavours and the wine matching was fantastic! Rakesh is a charming, unobtrusive and hugely effective front of house. Brilliant! If you like food and wine go! We will be back as soon as possible.

My husband and I had a superb meal on a Wednesday in September, to celebrate my birthday. This was our first visit and will not be our last; we intend to make this restaurant a regular. The food was fantastic and wonderfully presented. I had often driven past it when taking my children to school and admired the restaurant and was lucky enough to be treated by my husband to a superb meal and evening. We look forward to visiting it again with friends to enjoy another special evening. Thank you.
