Good straightforward food, based on careful use of local produce with a wide range of choices. Prices are not excessive and there is a standard maintained which is refreshingly high and dependable. A wine list that repays diligence with house wine at £9.95.

I have been twice with a party of about 20 archaeologists and quarry managers. The sitting and eating rooms are very pleasant and relaxing, the service excellent. Considering these were party bookings with pre-arranged menus for a very reasonable price, we were all very impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. All-in-all, a most enjoyable evening.
