Khan's of Kensington

3 Harrington Road, London, SW7 3ES

This longstanding restaurant situated near South Kensington Tube Station is described by its loyal supporters as being thoroughly reliable. Khan's of Kensington offers a really excellent variety of delicate Indian dishes at sensible value-for-money prices; however, the décor is minimalist in its appeal, providing a pleasant ambience. Delectable appetisers are certainly such as the lamb seekh chaat with the succulent tandoori baked lamb kebabs offset by the taste of onions, green chillies, coriander leaves and tangy spices set the tone. Delicate flavours of spices also come through vividly in main courses of salmon ajwani tikka marinated with garlic, yogurt and lovage seeds, as do some of their more creative dishes like lobster malai curry cooked in a creamy sauce with cashew nuts, cumin and coriander, and officer lamb chops in a honey and soya sauce.

An assortment of fresh, hand-made breads or rice flavoured with lime, saffron or mushrooms make superb accompaniments.

REVIEWS OF Khan's of Kensington

iEater (25 December 2008)

I went there with family and friends for a quiet meal and it clearly was a big disappointment. The restaurant is very cramped and feels like they have tried to squish more people by ‘squeezy’ table arrangements. The food is okay and not as superb as the price and does not keep up with the rest of the eat-ins in the same area. The noise level is too high maybe due to a very close kitchen or too many people. I won't go there again.
