Unfortunately a great location (Findhorn) which I have been to over the last 25 years is ruined by an incredibly aggressive and rude owner who does not understand that he is in the service industry. After a mix up with drinks which was no one person's fault (and frankly is irrelevant to what followed) the owner became irate that he might have to replace a whole pint of beer for another customer. Considering they charge £5.75 for some of their kids meals I think he could afford it, but after seeing previous reviews regarding the local "water charges" I now understand. I was physically approached where I was seated by a very large, angry owner in the middle of a busy bar (that's the friendly cosy one apparently) and continually asked where I came from at very close range (a strange thing for an English man to be asking a Scot in a place he's lived in and returned to since he was a boy) and that "where he came from if you knocked over someone's beer you bought them a new one" - this is odd as no beer had actually been knocked over, but I think the facts were not so important to this man on a mission; it is the kind of thing you'd expect to hear from a drunk not the owner! After a few minutes being harassed by him in this way (including patronising my teetotal wife and calling her darling) he eventually decided to let off steam by banning us, saying we'd be better off at the Crown. I think even his own bar staff were amazed at his actions. He should not have bothered, we'll wait until he is long gone before venturing back to what was once a friendly place. I'd suggest going to any other bar, cafe, restaurant, chip shop or burger van in the area unless you don't mind risking being subjected to a similar situation. Sadly a loss to the local community - who knows how this kind of behaviour is affecting the local tourist industry?

Nice place but staff particularly owner rude and abrasive. Fine as long as you don’t want to share a plate or order water. We walked out after being refused a glass of water along with 3 drinks. Went up the road to the Crown and Anchor, what a difference, friendly place, great atmosphere and superb food.
