King of Prussia, The Description
The King of Prussia is an elegantly refurbished period bar and restaurant on a quiet country lane between Slough and Beaconsfield. The wooden interior reflects the history of the hundred-year-old building and whilst there are open log fires in the winter, customers can dine in the beautiful garden area when the weather permits.
The new management has ensured that the restaurant's reputation for quality food carries on by introducing a wider choice of fish dishes that move with the market and seasons. This has introduced simplicity, whilst regularly changing specials offer variety and make the most of seasonal produce.
The lunchtime menu features hand carved ham, egg and chunky chips, and seared scallops on tossed salad leaves with a balsamic reduction. Other dishes that generate interest include grilled fish of the day, served with vegetables, and grilled halloumi with figs and butternut squash salad. Desserts range from homemade chocolate mousse to strawberry parfait and quite a few points in between.

Your Reviews of King of Prussia, The
Amie (6 April 2009)
Being a vegetarian I find it quite difficult to find good food when eating out as all the food is somewhat generic. Not eating fish normally limits the choice to one or two dishes. My partner and I recently ate at the King of Prussia and were amazed at the amount of dishes which were suitable for vegetarians. For starter I had a smoked mushroom dish, the flavour was incredible, I followed this up with a seasonal vegetable risotto which was absolutely delicious but unfortunately I couldn't finish it all as the portion sizes where massive. After a long break my partner and I managed a dessert and I am glad we did, the lovely waitress suggested the cheesecake, and the best we ever had. There were around 6 vegetarian choices to choose from; for once I found it hard to choose. For meat eaters the variance is staggering, from venison to scallops all made with fresh local ingredients and presented to a high standard. The meals were of good value, all I would warn was bring your appetite as the portions are massive. We would definitely go again.

The Sunday lunch was excellent and extraordinary value/relaxed interior/attentive friendly staff. I would definitely recommend foodie families and friends.
