King William IV

Byttom Hill, Mickleham, RH5 6EL

King William IV is a cosy pub on a hill with some gorgeous views of the Mole Valley. Customers can enjoy the vistas spread before them as they eat al fresco, on the terrace during warm months while in autumn and winter, the fireside beckons with some sumptuous food and a good selection of real ales. Ideally situated on the paths of many walks, you can pop in for a spot of rest and a good home cooked meal or just to enjoy the ambience. Starters of king scallops seared and served on towers of crayfish in Italian tomato sauce do very well indeed. Vegetarians can enjoy a tartlet of creamy brie and fresh leeks baked in a pastry case topped with toasted almonds while main courses include a Scottish fillet steak pan fried in olive oil and served with green peppercorn sauce.

REVIEWS OF King William IV

Bfb (22 April 2010)

Sunday lunches are superb if a little daunting in quantity. When the menu says shoulder of lamb, that is exactly what is served, a huge piece of tender well cooked not to fatty lamb with a selection of vegetables. In view of the quality the prices are reasonable. It can be rather busy if it is too cold to venture out into the garden.

Jenny Watkins (28 January 2008)

It was the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant. I rate it 10/10.
