Kinghams Restaurant Description
Nary a bad word to say about this lovely little cottage, sometimes mistaken (but only briefly) for a tea shop. Nor is there any shortage of support for the set-price menu, offering genuine value in well prepared dishes, with a leaning towards fish. Service is of the same high order. Would that there were more places like this around. A cut above neighbourhood restaurants, with honest concern for value and good standards. The wine list is well spread with house wines from £11.95 for a bottle, or £3 a glass - again, excellent value.

I had visited on Saturday at a party of twenty for lunch. The set lunch menu and house wines were truly excellent as was the professional and friendly service. I have been there several times in the last twelve months and have never been disappointed. Good value for money.

Went here last Tuesday evening - 12/04/05 - for a special occasion - and what a wonderful evening!! Kir Royale (£7 ea) started the evening off on an excellent note. I opted for the 'set menu' (available Tues to Thurs evening) which was fantastic value at £15.95. My partner opted for the starter of king prawns (daily special) and the sirloin (a touch tough!) though the sauce was excellent. Wine list was very good - with house wines starting at £11.95. Our total bill for 2 courses for both of us along with the Kir Royales came to £66 which was excellent value. Setting was very romantic and quiet - probably due to the fact it was mid-week!
