Kingston Arms

Named after it's location on Kingston Street, this neighbourhood gastropub is a great place, with good food, fantastic ales and wines, and an informal atmosphere, perfect for cosy first dates, business lunches or boozy get-togethers. The wood panelling and Victorian scenes of old Cambridge all contribute to making this a place not to be missed.

The inventive, seasonally-inspired menu is supplemented by daily specials featured on the blackboard and a new lunchtime menu draws the people who work nearby. Pan-fried halloumi, homemade pesto and tomato bread, and smoke duck and fig salad with lollo rosso and oakleaf make interesting starters. Mains could include lamb's liver and bacon, grilled goats' cheese, Irish stew and free range char-grilled chicken breast. Round it off with banana and toffee pancakes, treacle sponge or warm chocolate brownie.

Everyday it's a celebration of beer at Kingston with an array of 10 hand pumps and four guest ales that change weekly.
