Kitchin N1

8 Caledonia Street, Kings Cross, London, N1 9AA

Watch the flavours of the orient come alive in Kitchin NI where diners are invited to explore 'the culinary world in one kitchen'. Drawing inspiration from the spice routes that involved merchandising of spices and herbs, a trade that was once popular with Asian civilisations, now the restaurant charts a different route, leading to an address in Caledonia Street, and a gastronomic one at that, embracing cuisines of Thailand, China, India and Italy. The menu changes regularly and chicken satay grilled aubergines, butternut pumpkin curry, and spicy mussels emerge from the Thai section. A foray into the Indian territory could reveal a chicken tikka, lamb rogan josh and pilaf rice, while China unveils deep fried crispy seaweed, butterfly prawns and squid in green pepper and black bean.

REVIEWS OF Kitchin N1

Ambreen (28 December 2010)

I have been wanting to go to Kitchen N1 since I added them up onto my Facebook. Especially as it caters halal food which is quite rare in UK when it comes to authenticity as far as Chinese and Thai food is concerned. We arrived early around 6 PM and were greeted by the waiter on the reception who showed us the table. The restaurant is very clean and spacey, children friendly and have a vast variety of food in Chinese, Thai, Indian. Liked it so much - the live pan fry was very tasty and salads were good. Good value for money and definitely will go again. The only lacking thing was choice of desserts - some cakes did not taste very fresh but since the food was tasty and the service was very friendly I would not mind about the desserts at all but I am sure they will improve it. A very nice experience and a very pleasant one. Five stars.

I and a group of friends went to eat at Kitchin N1 and it looked amazing as your food is prepared in front of you and the smell is amazing as it gives the place a nice atmosphere. Really tasty food and so much choice as they cook Italian, Chinese, Thai - we were spoilt for choice and the staff were really friendly, which made me get over my warm coffee.
