La Fleur de Lys Description

Shaftesbury is perched on a hill top overlooking Blackmore Vale. La Fleur de Lys shares those views even better from its position on the edge of the town. As the name might imply the menu has a Gallic influence but using the best of local ingredients to meet the varying needs of the clientele. Results are certainly modern in style, without being over-clever. House wine at £12 is supported by a French leaning list with some of the higher price bottles a real find.

An exceptional restaurant and a real treat. It is more than a meal - it is an experience. From sitting in the comfortable bar eating olives whilst choosing from the menu to after dinner coffee on a squishy sofa with lots of lovely food in between. I have eaten there a few times and it has never been short of perfect. The food is of high quality, well prepared and professionally served. The higher priced menu does mean that we only go there on special occasions but if you can afford it I would highly recommend a visit.
