La Garrigue
31 Jeffrey Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1DH

Dishes from the Languedoc region of France are the restaurant's speciality and guests can expect to enjoy traditional rustic fare albeit with a modern touch. The dinner menu includes starters of crisp parcel of red mullet, potted meat of rabbit with chicory and pomegranate salad or twice baked blue cheese soufflé. Follow it up with delicious mains of slow cooked shin of beef in red wine sauce with tomatoes, traditional beans casserole with confit duck or French roast rabbit with black pudding, cabbage and juniper berry sauce. Puddings of lavender crème brûlée, rich chocolate fondant or tangy lemon tart bring the meal to a pleasant end.
La Garrigue also has a lunch menu that changes on a daily basis as well as a fine selection of aperitifs and digestifs. The carefully selected wine list similarly focuses on the Languedoc region, enjoying a particularly close relationship with the Daumas Gaussac vineyard.

REVIEWS OF La Garrigue
Andy s (29 October 2007)
It was our tenth wedding anniversary meal so it had to be good. Unfortunately it wasn't. Exquisite would be a better description. From the perfect aperitif to the sumptuous dessert we could find no fault. Excellent service and relaxed ambience made for a night to remember. We will definitely return on our next trip to Edinburgh, and would recommend the establishment highly. Many thanks.

This is a superb restaurant. Excellent service, wine, canapes, setting and the food... well it's exquisite. If you're a fan of cuisine from the Languedoc this is for you, if not why not! The imaginatively prepared menu encapsulates the restaurateur’s passion for good hearty food from quality, local sources. This is an exceptionally good place to eat.

There's one thing about Maison Bleue, absolutely no chance of missing it. Quite how they managed it I know not, but blue it is, very prettily done up with plenty of flowers on the outside in season, ...
