This is quite simply my favourite restaurant in Leeds with excellent food and service without being pretentious. The starters vary regularly but I always have some firm favourites, the mussels and frogs legs particularly are worth sampling. I certainly recommend the chateaubriand steak to share between two. The cheeseboard is like nothing I've seen before. On my last visit I noticed Alan Bennett at the next table, apparently he's been a regular for years!

Overall slightly disappointed, I heard good reviews of the place and being French looked forward to a nice meal. The starters were nice and the service rapid. However that is all I found good about the place. The staff was rather unfriendly (although this did not apply to all of them) and unhelpful. Two waiters even had a blazing row in French full of swearwords just in front of the table. I read the menu in French and questioned the waitress as some of the descriptions given do not correspond to what you should obtain in France her answer was rude.

Finally the main course was a let down... the venison was disappointing (I had better and more on my plate for less in many places before including a hostel in Scotland). My friend was happier with his main course though. Overall a poor French experience... I will never go there again.
