La Rive Restaurant Description
Here is a welcome addition to the scene. Opened in 1999 after a major but sensitive refurbishment. Stuart McLeod (formerly Gleneagles Hotel and The Savoy) and his team have already received an impressive clutch of awards. AA Hotel of the Year, 2001, RAC Gold Ribbon, 4 Stars and Four Dining Awards, Good Food Guide Newcomer of the Year, 2001, the list of accolades goes on.
The brief menu changes monthly and is exquisite. Ingenious food can sometimes be fussy, but not here. There is a good blend of locally produced food and plans are afoot to use beef, pork and poultry from their own farm. An impressive wine list with four house wines under £20 sets a high tone. Not to be missed.
