Run by the Florimonte family from Southern Italy, La Trattoria is a quaint Italian restaurant located on the main street in Talbot Green. With its rustic decor, comfortable seating and a relaxed, welcoming ambience, La Trattoria brings fine Italian dining to South Wales. Serving a range of traditional Italian dishes, with a contemporary twist, the restaurant uses fresh, locally sourced produce enhanced with authentic Italian ingredients including olive oil and balsamic vinegar, specially imported from Campania in Southern Italy.

The a la carte menu includes starters of timballo di gamberetti, a salad of rock prawns and crab with watercress and beetroot juice, and tiane of charred calamari served with oven baked tomatoes. There are also homemade pastas such as linguine alle vongole with mussels, clams, parsley and chilli, and a range of hand rolled pizzas including Calabrese with mozzarella, tomato, Southern Italian salami and red onion. La Trattoria also offers a number of regional specialities including scaloppini di maiale, a breaded pork escalope with beetroot and pine nut salad, and seafood dishes of coda di rospo con pancetta, a traditional dish of monkfish wrapped in pancetta with vegetable ribbons and walnut sauce.

There is also a good selection of fine Italian wines and other drinks to go with the meal.
