L'Accento
16 Garway Road, Bayswater, London, W2 4NH
L'Accento's striking black and white striped awning is certainly attractive and once inside you'll find plain white walls and basic wooden tables. The minimalist interior has not deterred their loyal Italian diners trying to reconnect with their native land or even those passing down Garway Road looking for a small, cosy place to eat. The food draws on a variety of Italian regions to include simple but delicious, homemade pasta as well as many excellent fish dishes. The kitchen's labour of love is evident in warm rolled aubergines with scamorza and leeks in tomato and basil sauce, and a spicy squid and rocket salad. For main courses grilled fresh tuna and Sicilian caponata is joined by shank of lamb in a sweet shallot and red wine sauce, and a pannacotta dessert with orange sauce and toasted almonds is a good way to finish.L'Accento's striking black and white striped awning is certainly attractive and once inside you'll find plain white walls and basic wooden tables.
