A very pleasant surprise. We had a wonderful reception one dark night when visiting and there was a power cut - but events were not to be disturbed! Candles at the ready! Just added to the atmosphere. We were made a fuss of - whether this was because mine host was then the Dean of Chester and known to the proprietors. Food was good and good wines too - but hey I was glad I wasn't paying! It was expensive! Worth it? Well there are plenty of places to choose from and not been back.
