Larder, The Description


The Larder, located in trendy Clerkenwell, is an unusual mix of bakery, restaurant, bar and a takeaway shop. Housed in a building dating back to 1897, which was built for grocer's Lovell and Christmas, The Larder is true to its roots offering an abundance of fresh, quality food.

Owner/Chef Nick Male - the former executive chef for Conran Restaurants - serves up a daily-changing menu featuring dishes such as duck rilette with pear and thyme jelly or baked egg, chorizo and manchego cheese or simple but delicious Devon crab for starters.

Fresh fish is served with hours of being caught alongside a wide range of well-sourced meat dishes, and there is always a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Puddings and pastries are prepared in-house by The Larder's skilled pastry section and bakers.

The laid-back bar provides a stylish sanctuary for drinkers, who fancy a cocktail or glass of wine from the extensive list or a beer from one of the five on draught or ten bottled.

The Larder is well suited to host celebrations and events, as the private dining room seats eighteen with its own bar, while the bar area can be hired out for up to one hundred and finally the whole restaurant can comfortably seat one hundred and sixty guests or three hundred and fifty standing.
