Latif Restaurant Description

Located in an elevated position on Newcastle's Clayton Street West, Latif offers customers a selection of food from Bangladesh and India. Ornate Victorian stairs lead to the dining room, with well-spaced tables spread out in elegant surroundings. Since the dining area is spacious, they can cater well for large groups too.
 
With a kitchen that specialises in Bangladeshi cuisine, the choices of mains include mild to very hot curries as well as vegetarian dishes. Their midweek buffet night and group set meals are popular.

I went there with two work colleagues. We had an excellent meal, and the staff were all really friendly. The food was quite unusual - not standard Indian restaurant fare at all. There were plenty of subtle spices and many dishes we had not heard of before. It’s definitely recommended.
