L'Auberge at the Onslow Arms Description
Should those of you who live near Guildford, for any reason at all have reservations about travelling to France yet be pining for the cuisine, pile into the car and repair to West Clandon where the former Onslow Arms is now a bastion of La France.
Presiding is head Chef Laurent Malnuit, Executive Chef of the Auberge Group. Amidst a discreet riot of blonde wood, beamed ceilings and latticed windows you may savour in the Rotisserie such delights as moules mariniere a la crème au coriander and other French classics of fond memory.
The style and presentation is impressive and the wine list is predictably Gallic and well selected.

I have eaten there many times and always been wowed by the excellent food and faultless service. I've eaten here with big groups and on my own, and am always delighted. I had heard there'd been a management buy out before Christmas. This hasn't affected the great quality. I will keep coming back and continue to recommend L'Auberge to family and friends.

We dined in the restaurant at the Onslow Arms today for Sunday lunch, and never again. The service was terrible and the members of staff in both attitude and appearance were very unprofessional. The restaurant was half empty so there was no excuse. The wine lists both in the bar and restaurant was very poor. The standard of food was mediocre, 7/10. However this was not our first visit, but will be our last. We have visited the restaurant a few times before today hoping that each time we will be pleased, but sadly no. Will we return or recommend The Onslow; I don't think so.
