Lava Cafe Bar Description
This friendly, laid-back cafe bar is part of the warehouse that houses Key 103's operation at Castlefield Basin.
Breakfast, sandwiches, paninis, jackets, salads and a worldwide pizza menu are supplemented with the unique lava rock menu that gives this venue its name. Volcanic rock is heated in an oven for 6-8 hours and then brought to your table, then you cook the steak, chicken or fish and vegetables yourself.
It's certainly unique as far as Manchester is concerned and the only person to blame is yourself if the food's not done the way you want it!

Lava is a great place to eat or drink, day or night. The staff are wonderful. It is my favourite bar by far in Manchester.

No matter how busy the bar can be, the members of staff are always attentive, professional and friendly. If they can help you they will, and it's the same with the food; if you want something left out of the dish, or something added they will oblige. The food is always consistent and very enjoyable, if you haven't tried their Sunday lunch, do. There is plenty to eat, and the only complaint I have is they don't supply doggie bags.
