This friendly, laid-back cafe bar is part of the warehouse that houses Key 103's operation at Castlefield Basin. Surrounded by the old warehouse and canal structure of central Manchester, the bar has a friendly environment for all diners. Described as a hidden gem, Lava has a diverse clientele and welcomes all local residents and visitors to this wonderful part of the city. A spicy piri piri chicken wrap and tuna and sweet corn jacket potato might take your fancy before you begin a tour of the surrounding area. The kitchen prepares all the burgers using Aberdeen Angus beef and favourites among the locals include New York style and black and blue. I love this bar, it's very cosy and the staff are friendly and helpful. We have a boat on the canal and always call in here for a drink and a bite to eat when we visit Castlefield. The food is excellent.

Lava is a great place to eat or drink, day or night. The staff are wonderful. It is my favourite bar by far in Manchester.
