Le Bouchon Bordelais Description
Le Bouchon in Clapham is a chic entrant to the Battersea dining scene, and is sister restaurant to their well known Spitafields counterpart. The sense of Gallic charm is strong and undeniable and locals consider it to be a sophisticated temple of food where the joy derived from this well established cuisine is immense. Friendly service helps you relax and enjoy some of the delicious fare created carefully and authentically by some very talented chefs.
The range of dishes is extensive and could feature warm foie gras, steak frites and salad, escargots with garlic and parsley butter and some delicious summer salads. The à la carte brings forth some splendid choices such as farmhouse terrine with red onion compote for starters followed with a main course of ox cheeks braised in rich red wine sauce with baby onions and mushrooms. The 350 sommelier selected wines feature French wines and some from across the world that are guaranteed to delight.

The menu was very interesting but sadly did not deliver. Service was extremely slow - it took over 1 hour for our starter of snails to arrive (I'm sure the snails themselves would have been faster). What's more, the dish was disappointing - the garlic was there but sadly the creaminess of the dish wasn't. My friend ordered the duck leg - "rare". It arrived 40 mins later totally overcooked. The food was disappointing and certainly not redeemed by the service.
