Le Palais du Jardin Description

One of the most successful - and largest - restaurants in Covent Garden, an area strangely renowned more for quantity than quality, the atmosphere buzzes at Palais du Jardin, though the bar towards the front is most unusually situated across the middle of the dining area. The cuisine is French, and generally plays it safe, but consistently, rather than being adventurous, dishes could include an excellent dish of crab cakes with lemon butter or steamed lobster and scallops with tagliatelle in a herb stew whilst desserts run from banana tart Tatin with rum caramel to poached pear with raspberries.

Your Reviews of Le Palais du Jardin

Clyde (24 April 2008)

I decided to treat my girlfriend to a good French meal in the evening. I chose this restaurant because of my last experience, which was good and also because it was close to the theatre that we were going to that same evening. The hostess welcomed us warmly but the rest of it was disappointing. The menu was dropped at our table without mentioning the daily special. Although there were only two other tables being served, we had to struggle to get the waiter’s attention. The order was taken, in a polite manner but not a friendly one. We ordered a second bottle of water, which never arrived and their disappointing service ruined a good meal.

Jackie Deeks (29 March 2006)

Very disappointed. Salmon not cooked and returned to the kitchen, it was re-presented very dry and bland. Complained at end of meal especially as a service charge had already been added. Wrote to Manager 7th March, still awaiting a reply.
