The restaurant was, though somewhat inconspicuous from the road, welcoming and relaxed, with great service and better food. The menu is small but high quality and the specials are more of the same. Personally, I would recommend the Scottish fillet of beef which was tender, juicy and done to perfection; also the smoked salmon starter which was excellent. A nice touch was the reduced charge for a childs' size meal from the chef and owner who showed us in, took our orders and embodied all the passion and perfectionism of French cookery. A delectable evening with a welcoming host who, as if a sign of his true devotion to food, confessed a loathing of fast food outlets and in between cooking for three separate tables found the time to talk to us about the pitfalls of credit card payments and even show us to the door.

After moving to Kent four years ago, we've tried loads of restaurants and this one is still our favourite. The owner/chef is a lovely guy and he's really passionate about cooking. It's quite pricey, but the food and wine are stunning and the restaurant has got a nice relaxing feel to it.
