An AA Rosette awarded restaurant, diners can sample head chef Leah Jenson's creations, either à la carte or from a market menu, rich in seasonal surprises. Specialities here include velouté of butternut squash with basil, tomato and garlic, pressed game terrine with pear and raisin purée, wild mushroom and leek risotto with parmesan and sweet chestnuts, and sea bass with a pine nut and herb crust. There's also steak frites of 21 day aged beef with watercress and béarnaise and fish and chips in bitter and twisted beer batter. Round off with caramelised banana Bavarois with chocolate and hazelnut ice-cream or chilled chocolate fondant with warm prune and Armagnac tart. An extensive wine list adds more sparkle to the evening.
