The Left Bank offers their own user friendly version of delicious home cooking from breakfast until supper in a comfortable, inviting bar and kitchen, they use seasonal and local produce wherever possible. Their a la carte covers a wide range from sticky pork with star anise and soy to monkfish on a crab and mussel velouté, as well as Gillespies burgers, fish and chips and their famous Goan masala fish curry. The choice includes bar snacks, smoothies, cocktails, coffees, brunch, lunch, all day mains and an evening menu as well as a prix fixe menu at lunchtime and early evening, Monday to Friday, and an extensive range of wines available by the glass. We have now gone to The Left Bank for the last time. More often than not the service is terrible. It's not just that the food takes far too long to arrive but that the staff don't seem to think it's a big deal. We gave it one last chance today and left after an hour when the main course still hadn't arrived, and it wasn't busy.

I have eaten several times mainly at lunchtime at the Left Bank, and the food has always been very good. The soups are brilliant and very unusual. The small dishes like tapas are not small, but very filling and have a fabulous flavour especially the ribs and the prawns. The members of staff are friendly and efficient. I rate Left Bank as one of the best eating places in the West End.
