L'Escargot
48 Greek Street, London, W1D 4EF
L'Escargot on Greek Street has long been a part of the London gastronomic scene, however, it has kept changing owners, chefs and look in recent years, having now settled into the caring hands of Marco Pierre White and Jimmy Lahoud. David Collins - London's most ubiquitous designer of the moment - has given it a makeover, and the pastel coloured walls with prints of paintings by many famous modern artists, from Chagall to Hockney, is both attractive and thoroughly 'à la mode'. The food also usually pleases with its strong flavours and modern twist on traditional French cooking, though the prices are fairly steep to match, and there are few wines under £20 a bottle.French, Italian, Modern

REVIEWS OF L'Escargot
MW (14 May 2008)
As a seasoned restaurant visitor, I was excited about my upcoming visit to L'Escargot for the first time, but I left completely disappointed. The service was nonexistent and the food was bland.
