Lime Tree, The

If you are looking for a relaxed and friendly neighbourhood restaurant in Leeds then Lime Tree could be just the place for you. Their main draw is the spacious outdoor area with ample heating and protection, so guests can dine there starting from the balmy spring time in April right though to autumn evenings in October. It does not escape notice that many of their patrons are locals, who tend to return for their expertly crafted cooking, peaceful atmosphere and informal, yet professional service.

Although the menu has a Mediterranean theme, it looks to classic French and modern British cooking for inspiration. So you may find deep-fried calamari alongside rib-eye steak au poivre and Yorkshire bangers and mash. Pizza and pasta lovers will find the seafood tagliatelle and quattro formaggi with Italian mozzarella, goats' cheese, blue Stilton, and camembert, hard to resist. There is apple, pear and cinnamon strudel with clotted cream and raspberry and cointreau brûlée for dessert.
