Linden Restaurant Description
Set in a grand Victorian Manor House, the Macdonald Frimley Hotel and Spa is luxurious and ornate, with beautifully furnished rooms, an intricately carved wooden staircase and the award winning Linden restaurant. Whether it is a traditional breakfast or a full fledged three course dinner, they pull all the stops when it comes to pleasing their guests. This 2 AA rosette winning restaurant provides lunch time options of smoked trout fillet, followed by seared duck breast and then rich chocolate custard with brandy snap.
The a la carte features starters of pan fried wood pigeon, foie gras and pineapple chutney followed by pepper crusted venison loin, polenta muffin, wild garlic and juniper berry yogurt. The green apple pannacotta with rhubarb puree ably modifies the sweet elements with the tart although the English cheese board is also another alternative. The bar lists some exclusive cognacs, whiskies, port and champagnes along with a range of cocktails.

My wife and I spent a very enjoyable evening at the Linden Restaurant where the food was great. The presentation of the food was distinctly over-engineered at times but fortunately that didn't detract from the taste of what was actually being served.The set-menu was not on offer the evening we went so it is no bargain, but it is a good place to go if you want to treat yourself.
