We booked a meal for five people in the restaurant and went to have a look the Sunday before and we were shown round by a young lady who said that there was only one booking in for the following Saturday night. We booked for a special occasion and arrived with family from London on the Saturday in question and were told that they did not have any tables so we would have to sit by the bar. We left and went to a proper restaurant round the corner.

We found the food good and the surroundings a bit unusual but the true price for the meal is a lot more than the price stated above and can be found on their website. In our case it was £39.50 per person for 3 courses plus coffee and it was not possible to have just 2 courses. With wine and tips this came to about double what we had expected based on the information given. Was it worth it? Not for us. You never quite get away from the fact that it is a bed and breakfast-guest house even if it is an upmarket one.
