Lock House Tea Rooms
Trent Lock, Lock Lane, Long Eaton, NG10 2FY
Idyllically set beside the lock at the junction of the Rivers Soar and Trent and the Erewash Canal, these tea rooms specialise in good old-fashioned cooking. The house dates from 1794 and although it has been modernised over the years it still retains a cosy atmosphere. The building features a patio where customers can enjoy the views and the sunshine in summer and use the thoughtfully supplied hooks to secure their dogs. A choice of over 50 different teas and a selection of coffees roasted on site await your indulgence. The Tea Rooms have won Awards of Excellence from the prestigious Tea Guild for many years. No surprise really when you consider the Cornish clotted cream teas, toasted sandwiches, salad platters, tripe and onions, rabbit stew and jacket potatoes all appear on the extensive menu, and that's without the daily specials.Idyllically set beside the lock at the junction of the Rivers Soar and Trent and the Erewash Canal, these tea rooms specialise in good old-fashioned cooking. There is also a small gift section with canal ware, cards and handmade rugs and quilting.

REVIEWS OF Lock House Tea Rooms
Tim Streets (23 December 2009)
I cycle down to the Tea Rooms at Trent Lock on a regular basis, just for an excellent cup of tea, and the beautiful view. Drinking tea from 'old country roses' tea cups is luxury for a cyclist, and the service is always very good. If you don’t have time for a full dinner, then the £2.00 specials are an excellent ‘top me up’ till reaching home.
Bradford (15 July 2009)
We regularly use this small family run Tea Room on Sunday afternoons and although tables are tightly packed in the 'parlour', the service is quick and friendly with lots of canal paraphernalia to look at. A few tables outside are preferable on a hot sunny day. The real clotted cream tea is delightful and the Sunday lunch is good honest food. The variety of teas is impressive!
