Lock House Tea Rooms

Trent Lock, Lock Lane, Long Eaton, NG10 2FY

Idyllically set beside the lock at the junction of the Rivers Soar and Trent and the Erewash Canal, these tea rooms specialise in good old-fashioned cooking. The house dates from 1794 and although it has been modernised over the years it still retains a cosy atmosphere. The building features a patio where customers can enjoy the views and the sunshine in summer and use the thoughtfully supplied hooks to secure their dogs. A choice of over 50 different teas and a selection of coffees roasted on site await your indulgence. The Tea Rooms have won Awards of Excellence from the prestigious Tea Guild for many years.  No surprise really when you consider the Cornish clotted cream teas, toasted sandwiches, salad platters, tripe and onions, rabbit stew and jacket potatoes all appear on the extensive menu, and that's without the daily specials.

Pam and Neil (11 August 2013)

If you just want a "proper" cup of tea or "real" coffee OR Tripe and Onions,Plum Bread (with or without cheese)and a host of other tasty treats, this is the place to come!

You can sit outside and watch people, dogs and boats coming and going,or inside the very traditional Tea-rooms, decorated with all manner of Canal and War artifacts. Its a fascinating gem of a place. Nestled along-side the canal lock, these Tea-rooms are perfectly placed to rest a while.
