Everything a good restaurant should be - quality food that you would be pushed to prepare, cook and present for yourself! It has a genuinely relaxed atmosphere where you are given time and space to enjoy your meal, your surroundings and friends. It has personal service with the emphasis on you as 'welcomed guest' and not as 'next punter', and an inter-relationship with the region that ensures that you have experienced something of the local community. It was a perfect meal out, with no doubt many more - ‘Deo volente’, to come.

I met my daughter in Ripon and was looking for somewhere to eat late lunch time, almost 2.30. We found Lockwoods by chance and they were only too pleased to accommodate us although they had officially closed the lunch menu. Sea bass was superb as was the homemade Italian sausage. Good selection of wine and friendly, attentive staff made this visit a memorable lunch. We will be back.
