Loft Restaurant, The

Visiting a small place such as Blair Atholl from London, I did not expect to eat the best fillet steak of my life. Ten of us descended on The Loft for dinner and experienced great food, good wine and friendly service. The chef even came out after our meal to check if everything was okay. We ate off a set menu, which was quite varied and incredibly good value, and were allowed to make alterations for food intolerances etc. All in all one of the best meals I've had in a while, and definitely the best steak.

I am a local resident in the village of Blair Atholl and have used The Loft Restaurant to wine and dine on several occasions. I have to say that the most recent visit in December 08, with the restaurant under its new management, was by far the best. The service was impeccable, the décor luxurious and romantic and the place has a very cosy and warm atmosphere. They had an extensive and reasonably priced menu, the portion sizes were of American approval and the food was simply delicious. I honestly can't fault this place. They even threw in a free bottle of champagne for our birthday celebrations.
