Loft Restaurant, The

This place is not what it once was and this is a real shame. We always come during the Blair Horse Trials and find the service, food, and ambience second to none. The extensive wine list has gone and the new owners probably have no knowledge of coffee, which may seem a little trivial but when you have to explain three times how to make an Americano and get nothing of the kind, it does get at one. The food was rather simple, which is fine and presentation wasn’t too great. I hope the new members of staff don't rest on their laurels. I certainly know we won't be returning until we've heard the game has been upped and will not be recommending it as we once had.

We had a fabulous meal in a fabulous place on the first night of our weekend break in our new motorhome. We stayed at Blair Atholl Castle Park and having spoken to Harry, the new owner, before leaving home in Newcastle, I wanted to treat my friends to a special first meal in Scotland. Wow! I got it in The Loft Restaurant - friendly staff, owner or manager, excellent and varied menu choice but all locally sourced. The chef’s prepared the food wonderfully and I could not believe that we were there on their second night of opening. This place is an absolute dream, from location and decor, through staff attention, cleanliness and service. Harry, you have 100% of my vote – I think it’s the best in Scotland.
