Housed in a meticulously restored Grade II building, the Radisson SAS Hotel was once the headquarters of the Leeds Permanent Building Society. Their in-house Lounge restaurant is a split into two levels - the upper section where guests can relax with a meal and drinks by the fireplace, otherwise it's the lower section for more formal dining - either way this is a pleasant spot with attentive service.

The cooking is robust and characteristically British with a slight modern touch and the seasonally changing menu displays loyalty to local produce as demonstrated in dishes such as shin beef terrine encased in hand raised pastry, sweet red wine, and Worcestershire sauce dressing. For mains there is pan roasted cod loin with dill and spring onion potato cake, and crispy cabbage with oyster sauce. A dessert of Belgian chocolate pot, a warm chocolate fudge mousse with a selection of homemade cookies and fruit for dipping helps you end the meal in style.
