Lucca Enoteca
39-43 High Street, Manningtree, CO11 1AH
Much is to be expected of a sister restaurant to the famed Mistley Thorn, one of the few Bib Gourmand restaurants in Essex. Probably the biggest difference is the cuisine, modern British with a touch of Californian at Mistley, totally committed Italian at Lucca. Housed in a Grade II building, Lucca is off to a good start, and there is comfortable seating for up to 100 indoors, with an additional 40 in the vine-covered courtyard garden where a wood-fired oven is also located for private parties. What then of the menu? It would be easy to say that all the well tried Italian favourites are there, which they are. But that would be to ignore the efforts that are made to go the extra culinary mile to produce dishes with just that subtle hint of difference that sorts out the pizzas from the pastas.Much is to be expected of a sister restaurant to the famed Mistley Thorn, one of the few Bib Gourmand restaurants in Essex. REVIEWS OF Lucca Enoteca
Jon Green (21 April 2011)
There are no recent reviews - so this is just to say that the standards remain as high as ever. This place has great food, friendly service, nice building and wood-fired oven. You can't beat it.
Teri Sparkes (25 November 2010)
I have now eaten at Lucca a number of times over the last couple of years and can say I have always enjoyed every occasion. The surroundings are welcoming, relaxing and the food is always great, as is the service. With the experience of lunch-time and evening meals, I have found both thoroughly enjoyable and I am always looking for an excuse to have to book a table!
