Luciano, the brain-child of Sir Rocco Forte and Marco Pierre White occupies the site formerly occupied by Madame Prunier's fish restaurant, and in terms of location is in there right amongst the clubs, the shops for gentlemen and handy for the theatres.

In the opinion of many MPW remains one of, if not the best chef in London. Perhaps this has something to do with his ability to offer people a menu from which they actually enjoy eating as opposed to what the author thinks they should eat.

Expect to find carpaccio of Aberdeen Angus with mustard dressing, grilled sea scallops salad of potato, bottarga, a ravioli of oxtail in Barolo, roast seabass with rosemary, anchovy and artichokes, roast partridge with figs and casteluccio lentils. This is some of the best eating to be had in SW1.

The thoroughly Italian menu is superbly supported by a wine list that carries the authority of an Italian collection, combined with significant contributions from France and the New World.
