Your Reviews of Lucifers

Paul (2 September 2007)

Having read reviews for this place we went for our anniversary and alas the night was a disaster. The fact that on a Saturday night the place was empty and that should have rung the alarm bells. Starters were OK but having to fish broken tortilla chips from underneath the chilli bowl was not quite up to scratch. My slow cooked lamb shank was dry and predictable. My wife's rib eye was overdone. The replacement fillet (the rib eye was all gone) instead of rare came raw and freezing. When returned it was the same piece merely heated up. We then found out all steak was cooked and finished in the oven and all three steaks failed to turn up with the £2 worth of peppercorn sauce. By this time staff were reluctant to serve us and we left with our night ruined.

Sam and Pete (16 July 2007)

We spent a great time in Eastbourne this weekend, and Lucifer’s Ribshack was a real highlight. Not wanting to be eating at Zizzi or Pizza Express I contacted the Hart, Eastbourne’s premier nightspot, for a recommendation of a restaurant with something special to offer. We understood that Lucifer’s had recently redefined itself as rib shack to appeal to the wider audience, but that the quality had always been fantastic.

Spot on! There was nothing of a 'Shack' about the place; Lucifer’s gloriously opulent interior is a secret from the street where with wonderfully friendly service we felt hidden away and right at home. The menu wasn’t the cheapest, but with dishes of entirely fresh and local produce hand made on site, it was absolutely worth it! Lucifer’s is a must!
