Lumiere
Clarence Parade, Cheltenham, GL50 3PA
Lumière is a modern British, fine dining restaurant located in a small Regency terrace in the very heart of Cheltenham. Being close to The Promenade, hotels, offices and the famous Ladies College has its own advantages and does ensure a steady stream of diners. The interior is contemporary and airy, designed in cool purples and creams with modern works of art and glass, generous table sizes and comfortable chairs. Chef Jon Howe's focus is firmly on local ingredients and bold flavours, with an interesting use of unusual techniques. He excels in being able to put a new and interesting twist on traditional dishes and bring them on par to satisfy modern palates. Lumière also offers a flexible special arrangement if you are going to the theatre, order in advance and enjoy two courses before the show, then return and have your desserts and coffee later.Lumière is a modern British, fine dining restaurant located in a small Regency terrace in the very heart of Cheltenham. REVIEWS OF Lumiere

I cannot believe this is not Michelin starred yet! We frequented this restaurant many times a few years ago and have recently come back to the area. We were a little worried to hear it was under new management with a new chef, however I think the restaurant has greatly improved and we liked it before! The food was completely sublime; absolutely everything our party had was delectable. I think the restaurant represents good value for money too, when you take into account all the little extras they bring you between courses. I have to also mention the wine list, which was superb. You have to try the red dessert wine Banyuls, it is exquisite. The service were great and are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating - one of our party had a wheat allergy and one had a dairy allergy, special courses were made and even special bread. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The decor was also nice, very classy and subtle. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I have eaten in quite a few Michelin starred restaurants and I would say that this is better than most. Go and sample the cuisine before it becomes impossible to get a table!

It has absolutely brilliant food with the greatest attention to detail and service. Delicately combined flavours coupled with the best of local ingredients make the Lumiere a must for all food lovers. Congratulations to all at the Lumiere for a wonderful and memorable meal.
