Lydon's Description

Lydon's is one of the chicest restaurants in the delightful area of Wimbledon village. The diverse menu is certain to have plenty to tempt every appetite with the waiter wheeling over a trolley to display the specialities of the day. The real focus of the menu is fish with everything from lobster and crab through to tuna and swordfish. However, there are also many non-fish options such as spicy marinated baby chicken, liver with bacon or a steak. The wine list is mainly Italian with a token choice of other wines and desserts include a delicious crème brulee or lemon tart.

It was a rubbish meal. Starters of mushrooms were very tough and almost inedible, I left most of them. The fish kebab main was over cooked and dry. The seasonal vegetables turned out to be fried potatoes and fried mushrooms, probably left over from the starters, and a few green beans. At least the pudding was just about okay. Don't go there as is not inexpensive and there are much better alternatives in the area.

It was simply the best restaurant I have ever been to. The service, the food, the decor and even the price, could not be faltered. Many local celebrities could be seen dining there, and I sat beside the wonderful June Whitfield. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star.
