Madhu's Description
The owners of Madhu's continue to uphold the legacy left behind by restaurateur Bishen Das Anand who was their grandfather, and also the man who created the well known Brilliant Restaurant in Nairbobi. This Southall eatery has been around since 1980 and has steadily evolved into a hub for those people who are seriously interested in having a good time. Today, they are not only in demand for their excellent quality of cuisine, but also because they organise and cater for weddings and other events.
The tandoori salmon for starter is a superb choice, char grilled fillet flavoured with carom seeds and lemon for that fresh and invigorating taste. Follow it up with a main course of murg musallam, chicken slow cooked in a rich, dark, hot sauce or maybe the rogan josh, tender lamb pieces prepared with fresh, ground spices, onions and peppers. Finally, finish with the mango kulfi, traditional Indian ice cream tinged with the taste of the exotic fruit.

I never write reviews so that's how good this place is. I've been there a few times now and have always found the staff welcoming and efficient, and above all the food is superb. What’s different at this restaurant is that every dish is unique in taste and texture. I love Indian food but go to so many restaurants where all you can taste is the spice and every dish in each category tastes the same. This can never be said about Madhu’s. It’s my son’s birthday today, he’s autistic and prefers to eat at home so I’m going to order a takeaway there tonight because I know it will be brilliant. I will let you know the outcome.

A group of seven friends and I went to dine at Madhu's on a Friday in March 2009. We opted for the set menu and it was unreal. The amount of food we got for the price was brilliant, so much so that some of the people in our party mistook the starters for being the main course. The food was delicious just like good Indian home cooking and the service was spot on. The manager and the waiting staff were all pleasant and helpful. Particular favourites were the chilli paneer and without a doubt the ice-cream with gajer ka halwa - yummy. All eight of us are looking into booking another night there.
