Maggie's Description

Maggie's is a reversal of the usual opening pattern for such establishments, kicking off at 5 am, but closing smartly after lunch, at 3 pm. Early customers are the fishermen, off in pursuit of the café's major commodity, although a nifty line in crab sandwiches is always popular. The restaurant seats 50, is conveniently located above the fish market and is not unknown for providing early morning sustenance to those returning from lively nights out, or sad souls suffering from sleeplessness.

We have eaten at Maggie’s for many years and the food is consistently good. It is extremely popular and in my opinion, the best fish and chips in Hastings. Well done Maggie’s and all the charming staff.

I think they serve the best fish and chips in Hastings. The portions are great and fresh fish is locally sourced. There is nothing swanky about this place - just good food and service with a sea view. As it’s very busy, I suggest you book a table.
