To say that the Maharaja is towards the top of the list in Cambridge should not be received with unalloyed rapture. It is perhaps a tribute to the excellence of College Common rooms that the commercial sector has responded in such lacklustre manner to the culinary challenge of swathes of hungry academics and their acolytes. Of course, there are exceptions and Maharaja is on the fringe. Dishes are traditional (in England, that is) and service is about average.Indian

I’ve been here twice and going again tonight. This is a great eat in restaurant, a little bit pricy but it is worth every penny. The food and service is great and is a wonderful place. I urge you to go and try it, you will not be disappointed. It’s a 5 star restaurant in my eyes!

The Maharajah is by far the best Indian restaurant in Cambridge. I take a party of 12-16 people every 3 months and we've never been disappointed yet. The food is very tasty and the portions are good. We never have any problems with service as we give them our order a few days beforehand. The staff are smart, attentive and very helpful.
