The people of Thailand believe that eating is one of the greatest pleasures in life and this has resulted in a style of cooking that is more like a celebration. The cuisine combines unusual ingredients such as coriander, garlic, pepper, ginger, tamarind, mint, chillies and basil that enhance the natural flavour of the meat, fish or vegetable, which form the base of the dish. The menu at Mai Thai is extensive and there are a number of stir-fried or sauce based dishes, salads, as well as rice and noodles.

The presentation is a treat to the eye and the service is friendly. They are open seven days of the week between noon and two for lunch, and from six in the evening until ten-thirty for dinner. The restaurant also takes bookings for parties and private gatherings.
