Makan Restaurant Description

Makan has been around for many years now, serving up a whole host of Malaysian specialities in relaxed and informal café style surroundings. Don't be put off by its less than picturesque surroundings and background noise courtesy of the Westway Flyover that runs overhead. Here you can rely on getting well-prepared and well-priced Malaysian dishes from around £3 a portion and they also offer a takeaway service too for those on the move. The range of noodle, curry and stir-fried based dishes includes some great fish specialities and plenty of vegetarian options too.

This place has the most affordable and authentic Malay food in the area (NyoNya is more upmarket, bigger menu) and is a great pit stop if you're wondering around Portobello market. Simple and tasty just like ordering from one of the hawker stalls back in KL. Wonderful nasi lemak, great roti canao/telo and deliciously spicy sambal!
